Tino’s Hunt

Arrived at property and scouted prior to hunt. Saw several yearling bucks while scouting and determined to set up along a tree-line leading to cut corn overlooking a cut soybean field. After setting up I scouted the perimeter of property from my vehicle. I scanned back and forth with binoculars the night before opening day. I saw this buck feeding with several does out in a grass field very close to where I planned to hunt the next morning. We nick named him "tall tines" with hopes of seeing him again.

The next morning (opening morning) shortly after daybreak, I heard a doe grunting just inside the woods. I decided to do a couple soft grunts myself and the doe came out into the field minutes after, with this buck "tall tines" right behind her, with his head down. He stopped and gave me a 25 yard shot. The buck measured 130 inches and field dressed @ 200 lbs. (EST. 3 1/2 YR OLD).

I really appreciate the hard work and professionalism that I have experienced thus far with all the HSP staff. It is my first year as a member and I look forward to many years to come.
